MISSION

The calling in Mark 16:15: "...Go into the whole world and preach the Gospel to every creature..."

THE VISION

  • To operate a faith based 'Dayspring Ministries' yacht mission to reach the remote people of the South Pacific;
  • To see island people won and discipled for Christ;
  • To encourage and build up the Christians in the places we visit;
  • To work with our Ministry Partners, the Bible Societies of both New Zealand and of the South Pacific, and to transport their Ministry teams to the islands that they wish us to visit;
  • To see the Mission and the yacht exclusively as belonging to God and not the work or the property of the Trust or its Partners or Supporters.

MISSION GOALS & OBJECTIVES

In seeking to fulfil the above Vision, the goals and objectives of Dayspring Ministries shall be to:

  • Provide a vessel which offers transportation for Ministry teams, Bibles, medical supplies / relief and volunteers for community work - as necessary;
  • Work with mission partners and local churches.
  • Facilite preaching, teaching and training missions.
  • Seek opportunities to show God's love and grace to the lost
  • Reach remote islands not served by regular means of transport.
  • Support and serve the established church
  • Receive support for its needs from the body of Christ, according to God's leading.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Trustees of Dayspring Ministries believe:

About God...

...that He is one God, the sole Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinite, perfect and eternally existing in co-equal three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Gen 1:1; 1 Pet 1:2; 2 Cor 12:14

About Jesus Christ...

...that He is both God and man, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and performed miracles. On the cross He died as our substitute and experienced the full judgment of God for our sin. We believe in His bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven and His future return to earth.

Matt 1:22: Jn 1:1-5; 1 Cor 15:3; Tit 2:13

About the Holy Spirit...

...that He convicts individuals regarding their sin and of their need for repentance. At the point of salvation He permanently indwells every believer and becomes their source of assurance, strength and wisdom, and He uniquely endows each believer with gifts for the building up of the body.

About the Bible...

...that the Holy Scriptures (Bible) as originally given were without error and recorded by men who were inspired by the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:21; Rev 22:18, 19

About Sin...

...that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. We believe that all human beings are born with a sinful nature because of Adam's sin.

Matt 1:21; Rom 5:12; 1 Jn 2:1-3

About Salvation...

...that it is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin's power and penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.

Rom 5:1; 6:23; Gal 3:26; Eph 2:8, 9;

About the Church...

...that is the body of Christ, of which He is the Head, comprised of all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. It is not restricted by gender, denomination, social standing, race colour, or creed.

1 Cor 12:15; Col 3:11

About Judgment and Resurrection...

...that there will be a resurrection of all people and a final judgment. Those who have received salvation will enjoy eternal life with Christ in God's presence. Those who reject Christ will suffer the judgment of eternal separation from God in Hell.

Matt 12:36; Acts 10:42; 1 Cor 15:12; 2 Cor 4:14, 5:10

About Mission...

...that believers are called to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to willingly obey the Scriptures.

Matt 28:19,20; Mk 16:15
