The goal of the programme is to help parents and caregivers to meet their child’s needs by being bigger, stronger, wiser and kind.

What is Circle of Security?

The Circle of Security – Parenting (COS-P) course is suitable for parents or caregivers of children 0-7 years who want to learn more about strengthening their relationship with their child.

However, the concepts are applicable for any aged child or teen – it’s never too late.

This programme welcomes and supports diverse family structures, cultural backgrounds, and parenting experiences.

It will teach you how to understand your child’s emotions, support them in the right way, and manage your own feelings. This course is a fantastic resource for improving your parenting skills and creating a healthy, secure bond with your child. By joining, you’ll gain valuable insights into your child’s emotional world and learn how to foster long-term family well-being.

Dayspring Trust is a registered agency for the Circle of Security Parenting programme and has been offering the parenting programme for over 10 years, with experienced and trained facilitators leading each course.

Testimonials

“I feel that this course is amazing because you have to look at yourself to be able to have a relationship with others. It also helps you improve and look at yourself in a different way.”  - B

A mother viewed her child’s behaviour differently by “Trying not to focus on behaviour but try and see the need behind the behaviour instead and trying to meet that need” – T

“A must-do parenting course. I didn’t realise how much I needed until I did it. It not only helped me to understand my child but helped me to understand myself and other most important people in my life” - S

“Now that I am able to be more present and confident in my parenting I am finding more joy in my children – which has strengthened their confidence in my ability to meet their needs and less meltdowns happen” - L

“It’s a beautiful course, really helpful for parents to understand what ‘good’ and ‘bad’ or ‘not useful’ parenting looks like. Connecting with other parents experiencing similar things is really validating and both women guiding the group were lovely” – N
