Helping you care for yourself

We understand that finding time for yourself can be hard when you’re caring for young children. That’s why we offer an onsite crèche where trained staff lovingly care for your tamariki under 3 years, while you focus on your wellbeing.

This service allows you to attend counselling sessions, courses, or support groups with peace of mind, knowing your children are in safe hands.

Our crèche is exclusively for wāhine who are attending Dayspring support groups or counselling services

You are always welcome.

Mums, you’re always welcome in crèche, but your child will be more settled if you leave them in the crèche while you are in your session. We will come and get you if your child needs you.

Our crèche has a high staff-to-child ratio, ensuring personalised attention for each child. Our dedicated team of experienced and passionate staff creates a loving, caring, and stimulating environment for your tamariki.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Talk to your counsellor, support worker or group facilitator about wanting to use the crèche. There is a registration form to be completed when you begin using the crèche.

  • There is no fee for the crèche, however we appreciate a kōha (donation) to contribute to the running costs of the crèche. Our suggested amount is $20 per family, per term.

  • For the health and safety of staff and other children, no sick children are allowed in the crèche. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is sick and won't be attending crèche.

  • No, you must stay onsite at Dayspring while your child is in the crèche.

  • Your tamariki can only attend the crèche while you are at a counselling session, CSW appointment, or group onsite at Dayspring.

  • You need to bring your own nappies and wipes, food and water, and bottles if your child is bottle-fed. We also recommend you bring a change of clothes for your child.

  • No, our crèche provides a range of toys, books and activities for all ages.

  • Yes, we have chairs in the crèche where you can breastfeed your baby.

  • If our crèche staff are unable to settle your child, they will come and get you.

  • We care for babies and children up to 3 years old in the crèche.
